Violeta Ayala in “Imagine a Future Worth Building”
Violeta Ayala features in Mozilla Foundation’s Imagine a Future Worth Building. She leads Paqarina, the first AI model for Indigenous Bolivian dance.
Violeta Ayala appears in Imagine a Future Worth Building, a new short film from Mozilla Foundation. Shot in New York, the film follows builders and creators who see a problem, hear every reason to stop, and build anyway.
The film opens with a hard fact. A small group of companies controls the money, the infrastructure and the distribution that decide which technologies reach people. Mozilla Foundation answers with a bet on builders who shape technology on their own terms, for the problems in front of them.
Violeta is a 2026–2027 Mozilla Fellow. Her fellowship project, Paqarina, is the first AI model for Indigenous Bolivian dance. It learns from motion capture of Andean dancers. Intelligence lives in the body. The ancestors left it in the dances.
The film previews what Mozilla Foundation launches for builders on 21 October.
Shot in New York. Directed by Clark Jacobson. Produced by Jacobson & Niswender. DP, edit and color by Ryder Schwartz.
